Every Dream Has an Origin Story

“Cracker soup tonight” is a famous saying around our dad’s house; one that used to mean work was slim, money was tight, and it was time to tighten the budget. Working in the field of his passion was not always lucrative, but he has always loved the career path that he chose.

When our dad was talking about his upcoming retirement from the Bricklayers Local 1, we talked a lot about managing finances, how he would spend his time, and if he could stay active in the industry that he loved - even if it were just as a hobby.

My sister and I wanted our dad to keep pursuing his talent, to get the chance to create and build, and to spend more time together in this new phase of his life. Eventually, from all of these conversations, Savage Masonry Mailboxes was born. Our dad is now our favorite employee, and we’re sure we are his favorite bosses!

Now, every Tuesday, we have our cracker soup team meeting, which, thankfully, is never actually cracker soup, and we discuss our goals, dreams, and plans for the ways we want to build a business that strengthens our family bonds while using use our individual talents out in the world to serve others. Staying active in the industry is just one part of our business goal; beautifying our city and engaging in partnerships that elevate our community comprise the rest of the vision.
