October at SMM

October was a whirlwind month with new custom mailboxes, some awesome glass block basement upgrades, and a few super fun community events! While Dad was on duty for the prettiest custom mailbox we’ve seen in a while (check it out in our project section aptly named “In the Navy”), we were busy making 800 magic wands, yes 800, for the 9 Mile Garden Trunk or Treat.

We had an absolute blast with our Harry Potter-themed booth, and the wand shop was a massive hit with visitors of all ages! We had so much fun making them, and again, when we helped each person as the wands chose their wizards! While mail by owl is standard wizarding practice, our baby owl was not entirely up to the task, so thankfully, our sample mailbox was on sight and able to handle all the wand application submissions. This event was a great time and gave us a chance to share some of our scope of work with inquisitive visitors and have a little Halloween fun (and too much candy) at the same time. Community events are our jam, and we loved pulling together outfits, activities, and a cute way to share our passion for beautiful mailboxes and other masonry projects!

Fun fact: one of our absolute favorite masonry project offerings is our outdoor Pizza oven and fireplace combo units and it’s the perfect season to enjoy them! These are so amazing because who doesn’t love a chilly night in the backyard with a cozy-smelling wood-burning fireplace to warm you and your friends, and duh- PIZZA !!!! The fact that they are totally customizable to your space, style, and budget is just one more perk.

As we head into November, we are so excited to add some great new projects to our portfolio and jump into our Thanksgiving and Christmas community outreach efforts. Check out our Instagram this weekend (@savage_masonrymailboxes) to see what kind of holiday giving we’re getting up to. And as always, if we can help you upgrade your curb appeal with a beautiful new mailbox or elevate your backyard space with a fire pit, BBQ, or other incredible use of your space- let us know! We’d love to hear your ideas so we can design and build exactly what you’re looking for before the holiday gatherings are here!

(PS- check out our next newsletter update to see precisely what Pawpaw and the grandkids have been up to with some of our recycled project materials. It’s so cute we can hardly stand it!)
